What is Lasso?
Originally developed by lassosoft.com and later acquired by Treefrog in Ontario, Canada, Lasso was once a popular middleware platform for integrating FileMaker with the web. However, since the platform was officially discontinued in 2017, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain and secure. As a result, Ottomatic has decided to fully deprecate our Lasso hosting services. We will be shutting down our remaining Lasso Server and archiving all website data by December 18th, 2025.
For those currently using Lasso, we strongly recommend migrating to a supported platform.
Next Steps
There are two primary ways to migrate to a modern supported platform:
- Convert your existing Lasso site to a current PHP-based solution
- Rebuild your existing Lasso site using a modern JavaScript stack
