What is Ottomatic?

Ottomatic is a hosting platform tailored toward improved performance for Claris FileMaker Server.

How can I get started?

First, review our different Ottomatic Instance types to find the one that best suits your needs. Then, check out our data centers. You'll most likely want to find one closest to your location to improve latency. If you're ready to start hosting with us, fill out our sign-up form. Shortly after signing up, you should receive a welcome email with instructions on getting started.

What if I have questions about what to sign up for?

Billing

Is there a free trial?

Yes! If you want to try out Ottomatic, we offer a 7-day free trial for first-time hosting customers.

What are the billing terms?

After the 7-day free trial, you will be billed automatically for the upcoming month of service.

What if I want to cancel Ottomatic?

letting us know you need to cancel your instance. Note that we do not prorate the current month but will end your instance on or before the last day of your billing period. If you have a certain date you'd like us to end the instance, please include that information in the ticket. Once the instance is closed, we will provide a link with access to any hosted files.

Configuration

What if I need more CPU, RAM, or storage?

After your Ottomatic Instance is deployed, you may require more CPU, RAM, or storage. If so, we can upgrade your Ottomatic Instance to a different type. Say you purchased a P2 (2 CPU Core, 4GB RAM, 80GB SSD), and you are running out of space. We can upgrade your Ottomatic to a P3 (4 CPU Core, 8GB RAM, 150GB SSD) in less than 10 minutes. Note that changing your Ottomatic Instance type will require a reboot.

How do I upgrade installed applications?

If you'd like to upgrade an application on your instance, like FileMaker Server, please submit a ticket, and we'll find a day and time to do the upgrade. (We don't automatically update your software to prevent any potential and unexpected software version issues.)
